After-birthday Run

The Hare: Seventy Percent
The Co-hare: Rapunzel
The Beer-stop Co-hare: Kakapupu

The Harriers (in order of appearance): Pee Wee, French Tickler, Khuming Rouge, Bear Ass, Coming Round the Corner, Calinton, Kick My Balls, Jerkin' Chimp, Silverback, Master Shafter, Slice Girl, Hula Girl.

Trail Report: When the Hares arrived to start marking the Trail, they found birthday greetings written in chalk on the ground outside the announced exit. Having marked the Trail, they chose a place to wait for Hashers near the park entrance but there proved to be a plague of bloodthirsty mosqitoes there, prompting liberal application of insect repellant.

After passing through the park (which proved horribly confusing for some of the more navigationally-challenged Hashers), the Trail led south-westwards beside the canal and past Check 1 then turned right to the Sumida river. The Pack then followed it all the way along the riverfront (where the Hares left a warning about dog shit on Trail) to the swimming pool, where it turned right along Kiyosumi-dori and onto the bridge to Tsukishima but then it turned into the little island park and across those stepping stones under the bridge. Here the Hare was afraid that the tide might rise high enough to make the Pack get their feet wet but apparently it didn't.

Hashers followed the Trail back along the other side of Kiyosumi-dori, past a bright red house, then a bright green and pink house and into Botan park to the beer stop, arriving just seconds after the Beer-stop Co-hare. The rest of the Trail went east along the stream, north beside Heikyukawa to the expressway, west past Tomioka Hachimangu and through Fukagawa park, then zig-zagging northwards to a final CB along Sendai Horikawa just before entering the Park. Even after re-entering Kiyosumi park, some Hashers had some difficulty in finding the end. One of them followed some trail marks even though she had already followed that part of the Trail at the beginning of the run!

Down-downs: awarded to the Hares for haring; the Hare for her birthday the day before; Coming Round the Corner as a Moonie-lookalike for the "Happy Birthday" message; the Virgin/Visitor Silverback; Jerkin' Chimp and Silverback for fukinov early; the FRB Pee Wee; the DFL Hula Girl; Pee Wee and Master Shafter for their 100th F3H3 run (no commemorative mugs yet!); the Beer-stop Co-hare for making a sushi stop on the way back fro the beer stop; Pee Wee and Calinton for taking advantage of the Co-hare's sushi stop; French Tickler and Hula Girl for passing the bright red house in red shirts; Bear Ass for passing the bright green house in a green shirt; Khuming Rouge for making a strange concoction and something about a bag of lemons; Bear Ass for a bungled attempt to nominate Slice Girl; Bear Ass and Hula Girl for fooling around in hotels in Thailand; Coming Round the Corner for almost reaching the end then starting the Trail again; Calinton for wondering what the dried dog shit was; Kick My Balls for finding most of the CBs; Slice Girl for visiting Hong Kong but not meeting the Flounder; and Hula Girl for changing during the Circle. Finally Master Shafter drank to the Flounder.

AfterHash: where Fukinov is an Art...  the nearby bar claiming to have local beer didn't seem to be selling any so fukinov seemed the next best idea.
