Trail Report: Of all the Australians who come to F3H3 anything like frequently, it was difficult to find one who was able to come on Oz Day, able to pre-lay the Trail and able to scout the Trail in advance. In the end, a kind of solution was found. The selected venue - practically the same as for run 36 - was very conveniently located although at the start it seemed the shelter of the expressways would not be needed. A dress code had been announced and most of the Pack followed it, many of them in Australia's sports colours of green and yellow/gold. The most serious violation was probably by the Hasher who ran in a rugby shirt of one of Australia's arch-rivals, England, but he changed into something yellow after the Run.

A koala welcomed the Pack and the Hare sent them on their way, first to the nearby Australian embassy, then eastwards via many CBs and other FRB traps to the waterfront at Takeshiba. As the Trail headed north, there was a choice: follow the entire Trail or take a short-cut. The full Trail went to Shiodome and Shinbashi station then south to Daimon station, where the short-cutters rejoined it, having run past Hamamatsucho station. Then it started raining lightly.

The first Hashers to reach the beer check (in the eastern part of Shiba park, across the main street from Zojo temple) were a trio of short-cutters at about 8:15. A few minutes later the true FRBs appeared, with the rest of the main Pack not far behind them. Refreshed, they pressed on and the Co-hare decided to advise any stragglers to take another short-cut round the south side of Shiba park and straight back along the main road. True Trail went past Tokyo Tower, all the way to Roppongi crossing then past Roppongi Hills and on-in along the old Azabu-juban shopping street.

By the end of the run the rain was a bit heavier so Hashers were very glad to be under the expressway. There were things Australian: VB beer, DIY Vegemite sandwiches, chocolate biscuits etc; and kiwi fruit. Then there was more beer and other snack stuff, but there were some grumbles that there was too much sweet stuff. Someone brought a bottle of wine but no corkscrew so someone went to buy one but apparently an over-enthusiastic Hasher broke it in the cork! One Hasher unilaterally decided that there wasn't enough food so he went and bought two pizzas.

Down-downs: awarded to the Hares for haring; Private Dancer (really, according to your scribe's notes) for FRBing; Electronymph for DFLing; Monkey Wrench for his F3H3 Virginity; Kakapupu for his anniversary last week; Jingle Balls for his recent naming at the TH3; Private Dancer, Monkey Wrench, Diana and Spermless for ignoring the dress code; Guru Guru for reading the Trash and raising objections; Flashing Banker for buying pizza; the Co-hare for attempting to lead the Circle with a mouthful of pizza; Guru Guru for something else about pizza; Flashing Banker for bringing kiwi fruit; Dog Face as a Muff Diver look-alike for MD's failure to produce the promised vegemite sandwiches; the Co-hare, Dog Face and Kakapupu for preferring Marmite to Vegemite; Pee Wee for "KR"(?); and the Hare, the Co-hare, Chucky, Calinton and Guru Guru for announcements. Diana, Gaseous Clay and Seventy Percent drank to the Flounder and there may have been a few more.

AfterHash: where Fukinov is an Art...  there was some beer left so a few Hashers hung around a bit longer and one got the GM even more drunk and tried to persuade him to delegate some responsibility for the webshite. Elsewhere, there are rumours of some kind of altercation between an Australian Hasher and an American.
