Trail Report: Despite having previously declared (by implication) Tabata unsuitable for hashing, this week's Hare decided to use this new venue. New, that is, to most of F3H3 but one Fukovian had already been there for a hash.

From the middle of the footbridge over the JR tracks, the Trail led north via Check 1 and a CB then headed north-west between the Tohoku line tracks and Meiji-dori, where a complete rectangular loop made the FRBs run about 250 metres extra. Then they found Check 2 in front of Oji station so they went checking to the north-west, north and east for several minutes until someone happened to find the tunnel under the tracks. Then it was a fairly straight run (apart from the FRB loops and CBs) through the railway-surrounded neighbourhood to Check 3 just in front of Kaminakazato station.

The on-on was along the alley beside the station then a left turn past the tennis courts and through Takinogawa park. Then the Trail crossed Hongo-dori via the footbridge and led into the backstreets. There was a left turn to a CB, then a right turn also looked like a CB but at the end there was a left turn into a narrow alley which looked like a dead end - but there was another left turn into an even narrower alley which looked even more like a dead end ... but there was a way between the walls! This was "Stout Man's Doubt", where only the slimmer Hashers can pass with ease.

Soon after this the Trail started turning southwards to Check 4 at a 6-way junction in Nishigahara. Then the Pack were led south-eastwards and numerous non-right-angled turns played havoc with their senses of direction - if they even had any to begin with. Somewhere here there was a small, historic-looking building, which apparently was some kind of storehouse. But not a beer storehouse so the Pack weren't very interested. They were much more interested in the Beer Check just outside exit 4 of Komagome Metro station (although I expect most of them drank water!).

The on-on was along the street beside the JR station (again!?) then south to Komagome-higashi park, where there was a tricky descent down a nobbly slope. Check 6 lay at the easternmost tip of Toshima-ku, with the on-on leading eastwards via two CBs to a main street. Here Hashers in the know could turn left for an easy short cut to the station, indeed at least one did, but most stayed on Trail and followed it up a steep climb in the backstreets, and maybe someone even followed it down to the CB near the south exit of Tabata station.

When the Pack returned, there was the usual beer, abundant delicious snacks prepared by the Co-hare, some tasty stuff prepared by the Hare (who was drunk when the Co-hare announced that she would provide snacks) and even live music! Even after Love Shag and Narita Cheetah had arrived back, Bear Ass was still on Trail. It was presumed that he had got stuck in Stout Man's Doubt but when he finally arrived, he claimed to have stopped to seek local knowledge about the historic-looking building.

Down-downs: awarded to the Hares; the FRB Pee Wee; the DFL Master Shafter (who started at about 8:10); Khuming Rouge for still not having fuktov to India (or has India sent him back already?); SOMF for distributing titillating 'literature'; Narita Cheetah and Kick My Balls for leaving stuff behind last week; Chu Chu and Chuck Chunder for partially identical names; Chu chu, Chucky, Rapunzel and Kakapupu for their hair; SOMF for walking the Trail with a huge can of beer (as usual); Khuming Rouge for the construction site beside the venue; Narita Cheetah for attempting to nominate Kick My Balls for something in their private life (like SOMF's attempt to nominate Wet Muscle at Run 32); Yumi for being discovered wandering off-Trail by the beer-running Hare; the Co-hare for excellent snacks; the Hare for not remembering that he had a Snacks Co-hare volunteer; SOMF for spilling beer; the Co-hare, SOMF, Wrong Pussy, Hurdy Gurdy Man and Master Shafter for announcements; and finally Love Shag, Calinton, Guru Guru and Seventy Percent drank to the Flounder.

AfterHash: where Fukinov is an Art...  SOMF and Khuming Rouge announced their plan to continue eating and (especially) drinking in the ramen bar beside the station.
