Trail Report: Tonight's Birthday Hare chose a new F3H3 venue: the park behind the Royal Park Hotel, which has good facilities (the park, that is, not the Royal Park - actually the hotel probably has good facilities too) and there seemed little risk of annoying local residents. It even has some shelter in case it rains but some umbrellas would be required if more than about 10 of us went there to hash in the rain.

The Trail led first to Suitengu-dori then past the front of the shrine named after the Metro station, before zig-zagging northwards and going a short distance north-west along the left side of the street with a park along the middle. After a U-turn it led south-east through the park. Then north-west along the right side of the street. But many of the Pack, having been delayed at the crossing on Amazake-yokocho, couldn't take full advantage of this intended short-cut opportunity. Then there were fun and games in Hamacho park and a run north along the river bank, interrupted by a left turn over the footbridge, which had all the hallmarks of a CB, but someone had to go and see.

There was a Check at the west end of Ryogoku bridge, with the on-on - unsurprisingly - at the other end. As the Trail zig-zagged south-eastwards, the Hare had thoughfully pointed out one of the many sumo stables in the district. After a CB or two, it was over the river and under the expressway and more zig-zagging to Morishita station. When the Trail turn east along the main street, there were suspicions that the Hare had actually made an A to B Trail finishing at her Tokyo pied à terre. And just when it seemed there might be down-downs for passing Kikkawa station, the Trail led south again to Onagigawa then east along the north bank. There was a CB across one of the bridges but True Trail crossed the river even further east, at Otomi bridge, I think.

Then the Trail headed back westwards but with a turn back across the river north of Kiyosumi-Shirakawa station - to a CB. The on-on was along the river bank then the Trail led back across the Sumida river via Kiyosu bridge. Soon after that, several of the FRBs missed a left turn, then tried various methods of picking up the Trail again, with various degrees of success or failure. They knew they were near the end but two of them spent quite a while circling and trying to find a way in to the park. Later on, even more Hashers apparently lost their way and used similar tactics to find the end.

Once again the Hare provided an excellent spread of snacks, from which some Hashers seemed to be making quite substantial meals.

Down-downs: awarded to the Hare for haring, for her **th birthday (toasted by all with special Rolling Stones champagne!), and for receiving a bouquet; Calinton for FRBing; Bear Ass for DFLing; Ding Dong for Welcome Back; Moonie-chan for coming by bicycle; Rapunzel for trying in the dark to pick up a tasty morsel only to find that it was a pool of ketchup; Pee Wee for giving flowers to the Hare; Master Shafter, Narita Cheetah, Love Shag, Kick My Balls and Spermless for running two laps around the block while looking for the end; I Have The Clap for adjusting his underwear on Trail; Bear Ass for starting a nomination then forgetting who was to be his nominee; Narita Cheetah, Love Shag, Flashing Banker, Wrong Pussy and Hurdy Gurdy Man for racism; the Hare and Bear Ass for a private party; French Tickler for having a pink F3H3 woolly hat; Flashing banker for new shoes; Coming Round The Corner, Narita Cheetah and Calinton for not changing out of their smelly running gear after the run; Pee Wee, Master Shafter, French Tickler and Wrong Pussy for announcements; and finally Ding Dong, Roman Style, Guru Guru, Seventy Percent and whoever else had beer left drank to the Flounder.

AfterHash: where Fukinov is an Art...  Ding Dong was keen to get at least some of the Pack to go somewhere for further consumption.
